Watchtower God’s Visible Organization?

Watchtower Quotes

The men of that governing body, like the apostles and older men in Jerusalem, have many years of experience in God’s service. But they do not rely on human wisdom in making decisions. No, being governed theocratically, they follow the example of the early governing body in Jerusalem, whose decisions were based on God’s Word and were made under the direction of holy spirit.

What of Jehovah’s Christian channel of communication today? Which of the hundreds of sects and denominations of those who claim to be Christian is Jehovah’s spokesman today in the earth as his divinely appointed and organized channel ofcommunication?

The evidences, therefore, are overwhelming that the anointed Christian remnant among Jehovah’s witnesses today comprise the collective channel of communication.

Question For The Jehovah’s Witness

If God always had a “visible organization on earth” then when did it start? Was the organization always there or did it start in the 1870s when Charles Taze Russell formed the “Bible Students” and later was carried on by Joseph Franklin Rutherford on January 6, 1917?

If this was the beginning of “Jehovah’s visible organization” was Jehovah without any witnesses for 2000 years? And there was an organization before Russell came why didn’t he just join them, why start his own organization?

Jehovah’s Witnesses originated as a branch of the Bible Student movement, which developed in the United States in the 1870s among followers of Christian Restorationist minister Charles Taze Russell. Bible Student missionaries were sent to England in 1881 and the first overseas branch was opened in London in 1900.

These are the deceptions of cults they allure unsuspecting individuals by grandiose claims. Please note in the first quote are comparing themselves to the apostles. Men who were divinely inspired through the Holy Spirit, men who the Lord Jesus ordained to preach the Gospel and do works which testified of the Lord Jesus, not an “organization”.

Matthew 10:5-8 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into [any] city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

  1. always great fun to watch Christians make the same claims and then attack each other’s claims because they are simply so sure their baseless claims are ever so much better than another Christian’s baseless claims.

      1. Poor WTAT, he has to make yet more baseless claims. Anyone can know about the JWs because they sure like to spread their nonsense, just like other Christians. They are very silly just like you with their nonsense about prophecy, about how only they have the “right” message, and they are just as disgusting with their very own problems of child abuse just like other Christian sects.

You are part of a cult as much as any JW, WTAT. It’s always so cute to see Christians attack each other, when they both have no evidence that their nonsense is true.

      2. Hi again, Just curious do you understand the doctrinal differences between Christians and JW’s? Additionally, I was wondering if you’re an atheist how come you are not in a different year, doesn’t that contradict your beliefs? Thanks in advance for your reply.

      3. “how come you aren’t not in a different year?”

        what does that mean?

I know the doctrinal differences between Christians and JW’s are Christians. Poor Christians, never agreeing on what their imaginary friend wants.

      4. Can you please explain what those differences are between JW’s and Christians. And just know that God knows if you’re lying and going to grab information on sites to answer this.

I’d like to know in your own words and understanding of the two.

As for year what happened 2020 years ago?

      5. Oh my. Ooooh, WTAT’s boogeyman is going to get me. LOL

I see that WTAT has no idea what the differences are. And no, dear, I don’t need to reinvent the wheel and explain them. I can have some nice websites do that for me. IF you have questions about something, then ask me. And if you think any of these websites are right or wrong, again, support your claims with evidence. I don’t care much about poor theists insisting that their imaginary friend is the only “real” one.

hmmm, WTAT, are Catholics really Christians? Are Mormons? So many Christians claim otherwise, but then again, they can’t show themselves to be Christians either.

What happened 2020 years ago? Nothing special. August seems to have been Caesar. Ping was emperor in the Han empire. India sent ambassadors to Rome. No evidence of any magic, divine or otherwise. And it’s even better that Christians can’t agree on their myth’s date.

      6. Maybe I’m just mistaken but weren’t you already informed that Catholics are not Christian. Neither are Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses or any other cult. Including your religion atheism.

      7. poor lil’ WTAT, has to claim that Christians aren’t Christian since they disagree with WTAT. And poor WTAT can’t do anything that baptized believers in Christ are supposed to do.

What a fraud you are, WTAT. Tsk, presenting yourself as a christian and failing.

      8. Hi Clubschadenfreude, we’re really happy to have you here. If you understand biblical doctrine it’s not what WTAT (thanks for that!) thinks is true.

It comes down to what the bible teaches. The signs of an apostle were those you spoke of ‘poisoned and not dying, healing blind people, raising the dead’ etc.

After the apostle John died there are no more apostles, only believers in Christ. The sign gifts have ceased because we have the entire cannon of scripture. Happy to share that with you. Hope you’re doing well God bless.

Lastly, you never did answer the question. What happened 2020 years ago which all of the world marks their calendar by?
One other question I’d like to ask, as an atheist where do you derive your moral values from?

        Like

      9. You don’t seem that happy at all, but okay, if you say so.

Christians do not agree on what they want to claim is “bible doctrine”. When you can’t even convince each other, there is little reason to think that any of you have any truth about it at all.

The bible doesnt’ say that only apostles can do what the bible promises. That was invented by Christians who know they can’t do what the bible claims that any baptized believer in Christ as savior can do. The same applies to the claims in James 5 where elders are claimed to be able to heal by prayer and annointing.

Nothing special happened 2020 years ago. Christians cannot agree on when Christ was supposedly was born or died. We have no age to go on, and no dates. We also have no evidence of any of the supposed events around Christ, from the star wandering around, to the massacare of the innocents, to him wandering around with a legion’s worth of men (plus women and children) in Roman occupied Palestine to the earthquake/sky darkening/dead wandering around Roman-occupied Jerusalem on a Passover.

The entire world doesn’t use the Romans solar calendar that was modified into the Julian and Gregorian calendars. Many do, and we can see that it was accepted for no better reason than it was easy to use. The BC/AD convention was made up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anno_Domini

it’s always funny to see Christians so desperate for any shred of evidence that their nonsense is true. No, WTAT, having a bit of the calendar that notes Christianity isn’t any more impressive than having days of the week noting Norse and Roman gods.

Oh and now we go with the morality thing. I get my morals from humans who have come before me. Happily, my morality is subjective and can get better. I’m not stuck with ignorance from several thousand years ago where it was moral to have slaves, to commit genocide and to consider women as property. Many civilizations have similar moralities since they help civilization work.

Now, where do you get your morality from? Christians don’t agree on what morals their god wants, so how do you know what you should be doing? In my experience, we have Christians saying that anything that their god does is good and moral simply because this god does it. This would indicate that your morality is based on nothing more than might equals right, if you say that it is okay for your god to kill people but not okay for a human being to do the same action. Your morality becomes subjective and dependent on who does something rather than the action itself being good or bad.

      10. “Christians do not agree on what they want to claim is “bible doctrine”. When you can’t even convince each other, there is little reason to think that any of you have any truth about it at all.”

Do you think ALL doctrine must be agreed upon for all Christians to be unified?

“Nothing special happened 2020 years ago.”
If the Bible is not true then the entire world is living a lie.
Do you deny Jesus Christ and all the historical biblical evidence in saying that He never existed?

That would be the biggest conspiracy in the existence of humankind. Even secular authorites don’t deny that Christ existed.

In order to say the Bible is not true then how come we can visit all the places the Bible speaks of?

Places like Jerusalem, City of David, Egypt, Mt of Olives, sea of galilee etc. If the Bible was false then none of those places would exist.

        Talk about denying facts.
That’s atheism for you it removes all hope.
        God bless you.

      11. WTAT, I know that doctrine has to be agreed on for Christians to be unified. It’s great to see you attack other Christians since they don’t share the same doctrine as you. Poor Christians, you want to claim how important you are, how many of there are of you in the world, but you go around declaring each other not Christian. I do love when you contradict each other on basic claims about Christianity.

Since the bible is not true, your delusions are a lie. The entire world is perfectly fine without you and your god.
Your silly supposed messiah never existed. There is no “historical biblical evidence”, none of the essential events of the bible have ever been shown to have happened. No flood, no exodus, no fabulous temples, no massive battles, no tower of babel, no resurrection, earthquake, darkened sky and the dead up wandering around. At best the Babylonian captivity happened in some form, but not as the bible describes.

Again, at best, some scholars believe that there was a deluded human who might be at the core of the magical story. That’s all. Plenty of authorities say that Jesus Christ, son of God never existed. And that’s the one you worship right, not some deluded Jewish man who thought he was the messiah? It would be funny if you did worship a regular, if crazy, man.
“In order to say the Bible is not true then how come we can visit all the places the Bible speaks of?
Places like Jerusalem, City of David, Egypt, Mt of Olives, sea of galilee etc. If the Bible was false then none of those places would exist.”

Wow, you aren’t very bright are you? A spider man comic book mentions New York City all of the time, oh how can we visit that? Why, Spidey must be real per your logic. The greek myths mention Athens; why then we have to believe that Athena and Poseidon are real. The Egyptian myths mention Luxor; again, Ra and Isis are as real as your god. Islam mentions Mecca. Golly, Allah must be the true god!

Theism has this tendency to make people not think about what they are saying in their desperation to make believe that they are special.

And hmmm, God bless you? So, what is the blessing I should be looking out for, WTAT? Or will this be yet another instance where a Christian’s words fail again because his god doesn’t exist.

      12. I love that you keep coming back thank you, I love this!!

        1. Why do you (including the entire world) subscribe to the year 2020 if the events of the Bible is not true? (still yet to be answered)

        2. In order for a person to be a Christian they must agree on the essentials/foundational truths of Christians doctrine. (You should know this).

        3. Lastly, all places which are stated in the Bible City of David etc. Along with other proofs such as plant life specific to the region, archaeological artifacts found such as pottery and coins from the times of Herod and Pontius Pilate etc., foundational structures of old towns from those periods, tunnels made by king Hezekiah, Shiloh (tabernacle), a wall built by the Canaanites.

        4. Those who have no sympathy for Christianity affirm it, people like Historian Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus,

TACIT CONFIRMATION. Roman historian Tacitus’s last major work, Annals, mentions a “Christus” who was executed by Pontius Pilate and from whom the Christians derived their name. Tacitus’s brief reference corroborates historical details of Jesus’ death from the New Testament. The pictured volume of Tacitus’s works is from the turn of the 17th century.

CHRESTIANS OF CHRIST. Book XV of Tacitus’s Annals is preserved in the 11th–12th-century Codex Mediceus II, a collection of medieval manuscripts now housed in the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence, Italy, along with other manuscripts and books that belonged to the Medici family. Highlighted above is the Latin text reading “… whom the crowd called ‘Chrestians.’ The founder of this name, Christ, had been executed in the reign of Tiberius by the procurator Pontius Pilate …” Photo: Codex Mediceus 68 II, fol. 38r, the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, Florence, Italy.

JAMES, BROTHER OF JESUS. In Jewish Antiquities, parts of which are included in this mid-17th-century book of translations, Josephus refers to a James, who is described as “the brother of Jesus-who-is-called-Messiah.” Josephus’s mention of Jesus to specify which James was being executed by the high priest Ananus in 62 C.E. affirms the existence of the historical Jesus.

THE TESTIMONY OF JOSEPHUS. This 15th-century manuscript, now in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, contains the portion of Josephus’s Testimonium Flavianum that refers to Jesus (highlighted in blue). The first sentence of the manuscript, highlighted in green, reads, from the Greek, “Around this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man.” The majority of scholars believe this passage of the Testimonium is based on the original writings of Josephus but contains later additions, likely made by Christian scribes.

In order for you to deny this you literally have to suppress the truth. I know you’ve been hurt by the truth will always remain true whether or not you choose to believe it.

      13. I enjoy it too. I get to see a Christian like you fail. It’s grand to hear the gritted teeth.

I’ve answered your questions so you still are lying. But I’ll be happy to answer again.

I use the common calendar since it is the common calendar. It wasn’t hard to change BC to BCE and AD to CE. There’s no argument that Christianity did change things. Just like other silly religions. It’s so pathetic to see you so impressed that a calendar is “evidence” of your god, when, by that same silliness, Monday, Tuesday, etc are evidence that the Norse gods exist, and August October are evidence that the Romans were on to something in calling their emperors gods.

        2. Christians have all sorts of doctrinal truths they claim. So you all have different versions of Christianity and try to claim that people who don’t agree with you aren’t Christians. None of you can do what baptized believers in Christ as savior so I’m not impressed with any of you. You are all poseurs.

        3. Yep, the bible mentions some real places. So does a Spider-man comic book, Egytpian myths, Greek myths, etc. Again, if you think that mentions of real people and places make something true, then all of these religions and comic books are as “true” as your bible. We have plenty of evidence that the Israelites were no more than one more tribe of Canaanites and there never was an “exodus”.

        4. Josephus mentions what he knew that Christians believed, not that what they claimed was true. We also have evidence that the one part that Christians glom onto the most regarding “About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he was one who performed surprising deeds and was a teacher of such people as accept the truth gladly.” is a forgery added far later. Tacitus did the same, report on what was believed, not what was true. Tacitus also claimed that a roman emperor could heal with spit just like Christ. Do you believe that this happened, WTAT? The original Tacitus wasn’t “pictured”, that was a later addition invented by Christians. It was written 114 years more or less after the supposed events and 40 years after Nero died. Tacitus also claims that Christianity was a superstition, which rather shows that your claims about how it supports Christianity as being true to be false and it shows it to be just one more cult at best, and a figment of someone’s imagination at worst. That Tacitus couldn’t get Pilate’s rank right also shows that we have someone making up things.

We can go with the rest of the other historians who again, only reported on what silliness Christians believed in. The writings about James shows that again, no magical Jesus, but at best some deluded fellow. That isn’t the one you worship, it is an entirely different character.

I have no suppress nothing at all. I just have to show that you are intentionally lying about those writings supporting the existence of some magical being.

      14. “Oh and now we go with the morality thing. I get my morals from humans who have come before me.”

Ok so if humans 20 years from now say it’s alright to murder anyone would you agree?
Human’s can change their morals and are flimsy.
Christians get their morals from God who doesn’t change.

You’re borrowing from a Christian worldview.
I’m certain if I stole your car you would agree that’s wrong.
Because of God, we know what’s wrong or right.
If you get your morals from man/mankind then if you say murder is wrong and I say it’s right then who are you to judge that I’m wrong?
You can’t because you appeal to man.
I appeal to a higher authority than man and that authority is God.

Lastly, all biblical Christians were not talking about people who just profess to know God yet are living lives devoid of God.
        No.
We are talking about born again believers, who all agree on basic truths.
Abortion/murder is wrong, sex outside of marriage is wrong, thief is wrong, drunkenness is wrong (drugs) etc.

From the atheist view point you cannot say anyone is wrong because you get your morals from man who is on the same level as yourself.

        Like

      15. No, I would not agree that it okay to murder anyone, 20 years from now or 200 years from now. That’s the pleasure of a subjective morality. I don’t have to agree with idiots from 2000+ years either. “We” don’t get our morals from your silly god at all.

Humans always change their morals, even if they claim to have a god with objective ones since Christians have done this for the last 2000+ years. You all just pick and choose what you want to believe your god supports. Christians have gone to not care about slavery, to not care about slavery except if Christians are enslaves to most not accepting slavery as moral at all. We still have some who do thanks to idiots who are white supremacists and are Christians.

Now, you’ll probably try, again, to declare that only those who agree with you are “really” Christians and you can’t show that to be the case either.

Poor Christian, you try to lie and claim that being a humane person is “borrowing” from your hateful little religion. Sorry, nope, the idea of caring for people has been around far longer than your nonsense. We know what is wrong and right depending on the harm done to others. Your god has nothing to do with it.

I guess that’s all you have WTAT, trying to lie about your religion to others. Happily that doesn’t work and I do my best to stand up to people like you. I can judge you with no problem at all: you try to lie to others to benefit and that harms people whom you try to remove their ability to make an informed decision. You try to make yourself god and try to claim that your opinions are that of some omnipotent being. How childish.
“Abortion/murder is wrong, sex outside of marriage is wrong, thief is wrong, drunkenness is wrong (drugs) etc.

Nope, other Christians don’t agree with you and yep, poor WTAT has to pretend that he/they are the OneTrueChristian™ with no evidence of this at all. Again, you make up your god in your pitiable image. Funny how poor WTAT doesn’t think that he should follow the other laws in the bible, like murdering people who dare to work on a Sabbath, killing people who are adulterers, kill kids who talk back to their parents. No, those would be inconvenient for him to actually do.

It’s no surprise that such a person thinks he needs to defend his god since he and his god are failures. Christians don’t agree on any basic truths, except for *maybe* that Christ was resurrected, but even some don’t think that JC was human so he wouldn’t need that. Again, I can certainly point out that you are wrong and use happily subjective human created morals to do that. No need for you or your petty god.

Wrong, but nice little fantasy you’ve invented for yourself.

So, per your claim, your god “blesses” everyone even non-christians, which makes it an idiot and the world just like a world would be without a god. This poor god has no ability to distinguish one person form another. The poor thing needed animal blood to help it figure out which people were Israelites and which people were Egytpians. Not very bright, is it?

You know what, WTAT, I’d be hapy for your pathetic god to remove its “blessings” and give them to kids who are dying of cancer, people who are starving, soldiers who are hurt by war, etc.

But your poor god can’t do any of that, can it? And given that every other theist claims that their version of their god does exactly what you claim, please do get to showing taht only your god exists. I am waiting for your evidence.

The “common calendar” is based off of Jesus Christ. It’s about the actual year. If you’re unaware it’s been 2020 years since He came into the world. Glad that you admit you subscribe to the truth.

“2. Christians have all sorts of doctrinal truths they claim. So you all have different versions of Christianity and try to claim that people who don’t agree with you aren’t Christians. Again you don’t understand what makes a person a Christian which doesn’t surprise me.
Here’s what makes a person a Christian, they affirm that Jesus is God, God consist of 3 distinct persons, they believe in heaven and hell, they believe in believers baptism, believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

God loves all mankind regardless of race or background and that includes you!
Although we are all sinners (Romans 3:23)

God has shown His love for us in giving His Only Begotten Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus was born of a virgin into a world that did not fully accept or even know who He really was. John 1:11 He willingly went to the Cross and Died, bearing the Sin of a fallen, condemned world so that you could be forgiven of your sins.

Anyone who accepts they’re indeed a sinner, and in faith turn to the Lord Jesus by believing in His finished work on the cross as personal and for them will receive Gods free gift of Eternal Life (John 3:15-17).

The Holy Scriptures – Believe the Holy Scriptures of both the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God.

The Godhead – Believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and sharing the same attributes and perfections (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; John 14:10, 26; 2 Cor. 13:14).

The Person and Work of Christ – 1. Believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. (Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8).

    2. Believe the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 2:24; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

    3. Believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He’s our representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-10; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 9:24; 7:25; 1 John 2:1-2)

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit – 1. Believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and, that He is the One who regenerates by baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. (John 16:8-11; Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:13-14)

    2. Salvation. Believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (John 8:24; 1:12; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 1 John 1:9)

Back to the topic, if a person affirms these biblical truths then they are a Christian. It doesn’t matter if they are a Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal, Methodist etc. It’s the foundational truths which make a person a Christian.

Now if someone says Jesus is not God (Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christadelphians etc.) Cannot be Christian because they deny these truths. It’s like someone saying I’m an atheist but I believe in God, that doesn’t work. In order for you to understand what makes someone a Christian you must know the foundational truths.

The non-essentials are not the most important aspect if one set of Christians baptise someone backwards in water and another group doesn’t it forward there’s no conflict there. The same goes for end times beliefs etc. Its the essentials which make us Christian.

“3. Yep, the bible mentions some real places. So does a Spider-man comic book, Egytpian myths, Greek myths, etc. Again, if you think that mentions of real people and places make something true, then all of these religions and comic books are as “true” as your bible. We have plenty of evidence that the Israelites were no more than one more tribe of Canaanites and there never was an “exodus”.”

The difference between comic books and the bible is that comic books cannot be affirmed. Additionally, comic books never predicted future events, the bible has and they have all come true. The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by Titus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Jerusalem_(70_CE)

And don’t forget how the Bible says people will grow cold, not having natural affection, and mock the word of God asking where is the promise of His (Jesus Christ) coming (Matthew 24:12, 2 Timothy 3:13, 2 Peter 3:3-7).

“4. That Tacitus couldn’t get Pilate’s rank right also shows that we have someone making up things.”

    Cite your sources.

Again you should know that Christians don’t believe in magic, magic is condemned by God. I see you sidestepped all the archaeological facts of temples and cities foundations found from specifics in the bible. Things such as temple coins from Herod, Pontius Pilate etc. There’s just too much evidence for you to ignore but I know because of pride you will and that’s ok. Deep in your heart you know it’s all true but that’s your choice I’m saved and have a risen Saviour.
